The F31 is designed for aggressive reading of barcodes from varying distances, creating sharp contrast images from 5 cm up to 1.5 meter. Even barcodes on difficult to reach angles can easily be scanned.

Auto-focus
The imager consists of a real-time adapting lens, a fast shutter speed and auto-contrast control. These technologies increase the resistance to hand movement and creates sharp contrast images for great performances. The auto-focus function improves the motion tolerance in such a way that labels can easily be scanned nearby, at far distances and difficult to reach angles.

Retail

The F31 is extremely suitable at kiosks. It enables retailers to check customer information and capture the information on the host system. Apart from that, an image of a customer's signature can be made, in order to verify a transaction. After check-out, the images are submitted and processed electronically.

Applications:
Item identification
Price checking
Signature capture
Mobile couponing
Loyalty card identification

Access Control

Tickets for trade shows, concerts and other events are usually ordered online. The conformation of these orders, often supplied with a 2D barcode, can be send to a mobile phone and can at the access control be identified with the F31. The 2D imager confirms the receipt of payment and the validity of subscription. This eliminates the use of paper and reduces labor expense. Apart from that, the stored data provides traceable input for visitor management reports.

Applications:
Entrance control
Check-out
Lead-tracking
Visitor data storage

Factory Automation

In the manufacturing process, products and intermediate products are supplied with barcodes. The added value of 2D codes is the large storage space for product information. Any (intermediate) product equipped with a 2D codes at the start of the assembly line can be traced over its entire lifecycle. The F31, with its compact form factor, fits in any production line and can be used to check the production and identify errors in this process.

Applications:
Status updates
Verification
Control (error prevention)
Serial number registration
Tracing of task performances

Embedded

Opticon equipment empowers scanning opportunities to third party products. The scanners find their way not only in the original manufacturers product range, they are also integrated in devices of other brands. Main applications for the integration of Opticon equipment are found in multiple types of stationary machines where the scanner forms the heart of a specific objected automation task. To protect the scan engine and the electronics against industrial hazards a full housed product can be mounted inside the machine.

Applications:
Vending machines
Laboratory automation
Kiosks
Access control
